restaurant review #235 – Brasserie Forestiere is a restaurant in the city center of Bruges, just a 5 minute walk away from the Belfry and central market. This was my second visit to Brasserie Forestière, the first visit dating back several years (one of the first reviews on my blog actually, see review here).
I was here with a friend for a weekday lunch a couple of weeks ago. I had made a reservation (which is advised, the place was nearly full).

Forestière is not a vegan restaurant but there are four dishes which are vegan or can be made vegan upon request:

• Wok with tofu (wok in soy sauce).
• Penne with oyster mushrooms, pesto and soy cream.
• Tagliatelli with vegetables
• Wrap with vegetables.

The lady serving us was very friendly and knowledgeable about ingredients of the dishes.
My friend had the wrap with vegetables (16€) I had the penne with vegan pesto and soy cream (yes, vegan pesto, she even came to show us the jar) (18€).

We did not have to wait long for the dishes to be served. Huge portions! But also very tasteful.

The interior of Brasserie Forestière is sober and stylish. With wooden chairs though that are very hard and rather uncomfortable.
Everything is on ground level and is wheelchair accessible and there is also an accessible toilet. Paper towels to dry one’s hands. Toilets spotlessly clean.

We both really liked it a lot. Friendly, great food, and nice decor. Recommended!
