Restaurant review #301 – Monkey eleven is a rather new place in town, it opened nearly two years ago, in the beginning of 2020. There are several vegan options standardly available. The style is of ‘healthy fastfood’. Each section of the menu has a vegan option (vegan pizza, wrap, bowl).
restaurant review #297 – The Olive Street Food is a small take-away place in the city centre of Bruges, very close to the central Market and the belfry (like, 5 steps away!). It is associated with the Olive Tree restaurant a bit further down the street. We had take away from The Olive Street Food a couple of weeks ago, on a sunny Sunday in Bruges.
restaurant review #295 – Blackbird is a vegan breakfast/lunch restaurant in the city center of Bruges, at the Jan van Eyckplein. The restaurant had gradually been adding more vegan option to their menu over the years, and in Spring of 2021 decided to go fully vegan. Yeah! 🙂
restaurant review #294 – Den Hemel en D’Helle is a traditional style restaurant in the city center of Bruges, close to the Stadsschouwburg (city Theater). The interior is more pub like, but the menu is rather traditional. The name – in local dialect – translates as ‘heaven and hell’.
restaurant review #292 – We have visited restaurant Hashtag Food several times over the years, and it’s always a pleasure to go dining there. Nice decor, lovely food and friendly service (previous reviews HERE). It’s not a vegan restaurant, but they do offer several vegan dishes, and all the desserts are vegan.
restaurant review #290 – Royal Frituur is a fastfood fries shop at the edge of the city, near the Kruispoort (on the north east side). We had take away from Royal Frituur a couple of months ago.
restaurant review #287 – Indian Tandoori is located in de Oude Gentweg (near the Katelijnestraat) in the east side of town. We had visited this restaurant many years ago, and had good memories of it, and wanted to try again.
restaurant review #285 – Atelier Flori is a vegan wine and tapas bar in the center of Bruges. It opened at the end of 2019. It is a bit tucked away in the Korte Vuldersstraat, near ‘t Zand. This review is from a visit to Atelier Flori in September 2020, before the second lockdown measures due to the COVID19 pandemic were enforced. The menu only offers a handful of light options (e.g. nachos with dip), as this is primarily a wine bar. We chose the vegan etagère for two (32€) and it was magnificent! With homemade vegan cheezes, lasagne, avocado spread, a small glass of soup, bread, fresh vegetables and much more.More than enough for the two of us! We had some alcohol free drinks (lemnade 3,50€, mocktail 5€). For dessert we shared a chocolate mousse (made with aquafaba) with whip (5€). Nice! We enjoyed the beautiful decor. The bar is located in an old historic building in the city centre of Bruges. It used to be the painting studio (atelier) of painter Flori Van …
restaurant review #283 – Wiphada is a Thai restaurant in Bruges. We were here a couple of weeks ago for lunch. This was before the new lockdown went into place due to the COVID pandemic, and all restaurants had to close again.
restaurant review #278 – The Rabbit Hole is a new place in town where you can get a vegan snack! It is tucked away in a bike shop and located at the edge of town, near the Damse Vaart (next to music shop Metronoom). Once you enter the alley leading to the shop, you discover a large sunny terrace. There are also some seating places/benches inside the shop too. A handful of lunch/snack options, toast avocado and toast with vegan cheeze as vegan options.
