restaurant review #506 – Vegan pizzas in the city center! This is an Italian restaurant at de Burg, near the city hall and market place.

Vegan is clearly labelled on the menu, and consist of two options: Marinara pizza (13€) and Vegana pizza (18€).

As the Marinara pizza is just crust with tomato sauce (and garlic and some parsley), we ordered with extra vegetables +3€. Mocktail was 8€.

The pizzas were OK, nice crust, but difficult to cut with a not so sharp knife on an unstable high table (watch out for the glasses!). The Marinara was OK but nothing special, the Vegana with broccoli cream was very interesting.
Pity they dont have any other vegan options (appetizers, pastas? …).

Inside is bigger than the small front lets you think it is. Also a large outdoor seating area.
Entrance is accessible/stepfree. But interior is mixture of (mainly) high tables/stools and low table/chairs.
The entrance at the back – Philip Stockstraaat – is with steps.
Service was friendly, but it took a while. It took 15 minutes between having received the menus and someone coming to take our order (yes, even for drinks). We were already contemplating leaving …

Two toilets on ground floor. Clean. Paper towels.

No Dutch spoken (we were spoken to in English & Italian).
I wouldn’t especially come here again for the pizzas, but it’s a good option if you’re in mixed (non-vegan) company.

The broccoli cream pizza looks amazing!! I usually don’t like to eat vegan cheese on pizza so other ideas are always welcome.
This one was very original!
