restaurant review #173 La Trocadero is a vegan fastfood self service bar near the Sagrada Familia. You order food at the counter, then go pick up your food at the counter (number called out in Spanish or Catalan). And one is expected to clean up after finished. We went here for lunch, after our visit to the Sagrada Familia. (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). The menu is shown on TV screens above the counter. There’s an English explanation, and photos of the dishes next to it. The girl serving at counter was a bit rude, and not very welcoming. She hardly spoke any English, but we managed to place our order. La Trocadero is not for elaborate dining and wining. It is fastfood: burgers and hotdogs. No alcohol served, except some rootbeer. The place seems newly renovated and seems very hip and modern. Very simple furniture though, but very creative (with vegetable boxes). #169 Tapas and cocktails at Barceloneta, Barcelona

Restaurant review #169 – Barceloneta is a vegan tapas bar, at the beach area of Barcelona (the area is called ‘la Barceloneta’, hence the name of the tapas bar). We visited a couple of weeks ago, on a cold and Wintery afternoon (yes it was cold with a blistering wind at the beach! not the image one has when thinking of Barcelona 😉 ). So we were glad there was a vegan bar in the area, to warm up! (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). Barceloneta is a rather small place and is a bit dark. There are two rooms, and each have an entrance door (to different parallel streets). The menu has several exotic sounding cocktails, sangrias, a great selection of tapas, and also burgers. We ordered these: Mona Lisa cocktail (with white wine and mint) 8€ Dianna cocktail (with rosé wine) 7€ vegan ‘calamares’ rings and tofu croquettes, each 7,95€ Drinks and tapas totalled 30,90€ (which we found somewhat expensive, for Barcelona). shop review #50 – Amapola is a vegan shop in the city center of Barcelona, on the north side in the Vila de Gracia district. It sells T-shirts, handbags, wallets and shoes.  And some other accessories like jewelry and bonnets. (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). We were here a couple of weeks ago, and it was the first stop in our visit to Barcelona. The shop is quite spacious and has a nice selection of items, from different brands. We bought some shoes, and a wallet from Matt & Natt! restaurant review #167 – The Green Spot is a vegetarian restaurant in the city center of Barcelona. It is located near the harbour, also not far from the Catalunyan Parliament (in the Parc de la Ciutadella). (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). The restaurants covers the whole downstairs area of the building and there are entrances both at the Carrerde la Reina Christina and the Pas de Sota Muralla. I had made an online reservation for lunch, which turned out to be really necessary, as the restaurant soon was filled with guests for lunch. We sat at the window, with a partial view at the harbour. The restaurant area is a spacious bright room, nicely decorated, with wood like colours dominanting the atmosphere. Seatings were comfortable. Vegan options are clearly indicated on menu. This is what we had for lunch: Muhamara (6,50€) red pepper dip with walnuts, served with pita bread and celery Edame beans with chili 7,50€. Shop review #49 – VeGala is a vegan shop in Barcelona with cosmetics and body and care products. We stopped here just after arriving in Barcelona, as I wanted to get some facial cream and make up remover. And it was not so far from vegan shop Amapolo (with handbags, shoes and wallets). (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). Vegala is a rather small shop, in the north side of Barcelona, in the Vila de Gracia area. Not a very large stock of products, but I found what I needed, and also bought a vegan foundation. Very friendly lady, who took her time to give advice. These are the products I bought (total of 45 euro). Shop review #48 – Ecocentre is a vegan shop in the city center of Barcelona. We went to Ecocentre after visiting the nearby Sagrada Familia and having lunch at vegan restaurant La Trocadero. Whooot! It’s a (small) supermarket! The place is packed with vegan goodies, food items like cereals, cookies, pasta, but also faux meats, icecream, cheese and pies and cakes!
