restaurant review #431 – I normally don’t post reviews from coffee bars anymore, or places where we just had a piece of cake or coffee (I can’t even keep up with the restaurant reviews as it is 😉 but want to make an exception for this place. Cafe Flowery in Koblenz!
restaurant review #430 – Loy Vegan is a vegan restaurant with Asian style cuisine in the city center of Trier in Germany. We were here for lunch a couple of months ago. We were early, at noon, and were the only patrons. By the time we left some other tables were occupied.
Had a coconut soup (7€), fried dumplings with tofu and morels (6,9€), fried tofu with peanut sauce and coconut milk (16,9€), and noodles with tofu and seitan (16,9€). Big portions, I couldn’t finish my dish.
Although the menu is quite extensive, a lot of the dishes seem to be variations of the same base, using tofu and/or seitan.
Would have loved to get some vegan shrimp for example. The dishes and menu – although many pages – felt somewhat uninspired, it could be so much more creative!
Ok service, but very reserved. Only the necessary communication. Eighties/nineties music, which we liked 😃
Nice interior, comfy.
Very large outdoor seating space. Inside accessible, but toilets are downstairs. Clean. Didn’t see an accessible toilet (I forgot to take a pic this time!).

We have had the pleasure of tasting the pizzas from Plant a Pizza at several vegan events before, and also at the foodtruck in Ghent. Plant a Pizza then opened a restaurant in Ghent, and since the beginning of 2024 has a second restaurant in Antwerp!
This is from a visit to the one in Ghent, at the end of the Summer of 2023. It is in the city center, near the Gravensteen, the medieval castle.

restaurant review #425 – First time visit to this restaurant! Zwadderkotmolen is – well the name already gives it away – a restaurant located in an old ‘molen’ = mill. Although not really visible from the outside, one can still see remains from the mill inside the restaurant room!
