restaurant review #422 – New place!! All vegan 👍💚👏🏼
Vegan frituur = a typically Belgian fastfoodshop, with fries and fried snacks, but this one is vegan 🤗

↪️Note, if you think fries are always vegan, unfortunately no … in Belgium, most fries shops still bake fries in animal fat!

This vegan frituur has a large variety of frituursnacks! We visited when we were in Leuven for the concert of Living Colour, end of 2023 (which was awesome – see video).

Order at counter. Wanted to order the stoofvlees (stew) and bospaddenstoelenkroket, but those were sold out unfortunately.

Had a small and large fries, 2x stoofvleessaus, veganaise, bitterballen, frikandel special and cheesy rings.
All this totalled 35€.
They bring food to your table. A bit of a wait.

I really liked the fries. Nice golden and crispy. The snacks, well … it’s junkfood, not much more to say 😄 I think it’s great to have a 100%vegan frituur, and there’s definitely demand for this (the place was full). And I hope many will follow, but such dinner is not really my cup of tea anymore. I miss vegetables 😉 But Im glad I tried it.

Entrance accessible and all on ground floor. A couple of regular tables & some higher bar seatings. Two toilets at the back. Unfortunately no accessible toilet, despite seemingly completely renovated.

🐮 Gave them a Happy Cow window decal and some stickers. Hope they put it up! Had added them on HC since I saw the announcement, even before opening 😉
