restaurant review #612 – New plantbased fine dining restaurant in Gent!

We were here early on a Saturday evening. It’s definitely advised to make a reservation, as it was full later in the evening!
We had a lovely gastronomic 5-course dinner for 85€.

We were the first patrons, and quickly got our amuses. But then it took a very long time before we got the first course (50 minutes). Luckily, later courses were more timely!

We enjoyed each course, the flavours, the presentation, the portions. For the menu, see the photos above (too many ingredients to write down 😉 .

Dirt. is the new project of chef Kevin Storms. We’ve always enjoyed Kevin’s culinairy creations, from way back at restaurant Avalon nearly 20 years ago, and later his catering with Foodstorms and his pop up restaurant in the city centre of Ghent.

Really good price/value. Nice decor, relaxed, comfy seatings. The only thing that absolutely was not our cup of tea was the constant lounge music ;-).
Friendly, albeit reserved service.

One toilet at the back. Clean. Nice sink, individual towels. Love that 🙂 Unfortunately no accessible toilet, although there certainly was space enough. Stepfree entrance.
Note: some pairing drinks (which we didn’t order, we had some alcohol free drinks) might not be vegan, but it was said they give a heads up when this is the case.
