#312 Colourful sushi plate at Ichiban sushi, Remich (Luxembourg)

restaurant review #312 – Remich is a small town in the East of Luxembourg, at the banks of the Moselle (Moezel), and the border with Germany. We were here in September, when we were in Luxembourg for the International Animal Right Conference.

We planned on going to restaurant Metschekescht for dinner (practically nextdoors) but that was unexpectedly closed.
So we thought to try this sushi place, although there are hardly any vegan (or even vegetarian) options mentioned on the menu. It was listed on Happy Cow though, so that made us a bit more confident to enter.
We didn’t know we needed to ask for vegan at least an hour in advance (I’ve updated the Happy Cow listing since), as the waitress in a seemingly annoyed fashion made us clear. Even though we were early and there were no other patrons in the restaurant. She reluctantly said they could do vegan sushis for us (we were almost ready to leave again).

So we ordered vegan sushis and also ordered the miso soup with tofu (4,50€), and the dim sums (6€) which are both on the menu and said to be vegan.

We weren’t expecting much going by her ‘enthusiasm’, and were pleasantly surprised to be served a beautiful plate of 32 colourful and varied sushis (4×8) (35,20€).
Very good and more than enough portion!

We were sat on the small terrace in front of the restaurant. It is located along a rather busy road, so not that enjoaybel, but you have a nice view over the river. Restaurant is not accessible: many stairs, also stairs to reach toilet. Toilets clean.

All in all: beautiful and delicious sushis, but a bit unwelcoming.
