restaurant review #311 – Oh!Ma is a vegan pop up restaurant in Bruges, run by vegan catering Vegansa. We have visited twice in the last couple of weeks, and hope to visit again before they close mid January!
Oh!ma serves traditional Flemish dishes, like vol-au-vent and stoverij (stew) but vegan!
We had two cheese croquettes (11€) and vol-au-vegan croquettes (9,5€) as an appetizer.
As main dishes stoverij (large portion 19€) and vol-au-vegan (small portion – which was wáy more than enough for me), 15€.
You can choose to have either fries or mashed potatoes on the side and a sauce like veganaise is also included.
We were quite stuffed, so shared a chocolatemousse (6€) for dessert. See how beautifully it was presented! 👌
On a second visit with friends we also had some appetizers, and main dishes included balls in tomato sauce and another Flemish classic ‘chicory in cheese sauce’.
Loved it! On the first visit the fries were a bit hard (we even thought they were from frozen fries, but were told they are not), but they were much better on the second visit. Loved all the veganised Flemish classic dishes.
Beautifully restored location, very relaxed and an ‘authentic’ atmosphere which can be hired for events (see @ottentic).
Very friendly service too by a young and ambitious duo.
We will definitely return, and if you want to visit too, don’t wait too long, cause they’re only in town for a couple of months. Maybe a permanent restaurant will follow in Bruges in the future (would love it! 💚🙌).
