Restaurant review #122 – Restaurant Réliva is one of the few places in Bruges that standardly offers a vegan menu. It is not an all vegan restaurant, but since the start (2012) they have served vegan dishes. We’ve been here several times over the years, and it is always a delight to go dining here. Previous reviews of Réliva on The Bruges Vegan are here. (see updates below!)

The interior has changed a bit over the years, and there’s also a large terrace in the back. We’ve never had the chance to dine on the terrace, as it was always cold or rainy when we visited. Definitely will try to visit on a nice Summer evening in the coming months, so we can enjoy the terrace!

This review is from our last visit, a couple of weeks ago (Spring 2017). The vegan menu is still 35€ (starter, main dish and dessert). When ordering a la carte it is a bit more expensive (see prices listed, total of 43€ for 3 courses).

For starters we had the radish, beet, cashew nut cream, dried black olives and garlic (part of 35€ menu) and the green pea, cucumber & mint gazpacho with cracker and vegan tzatziki (10€).
Main dishes were: Eggplant and zucchini lasagna with puttanesca sauce, San Marzano tomatoes, vegan cheese (part of 35€ menu) and a vegetable dish (leeks, asparagus, tomatoes, quinoa) (25€).

Desserts were the raw cacao-avocado mousse, mango sorbet (8€) and the raw white chocolate cheesecake with berries (part of 35€ menu).

We loved the variety, the flavours and the presentation of all dishes.
We can honestly say that of all the restaurants that we have visited, in its price range, Réliva is certainly one of the best, if not the best! It is also commendable that over the years they have taken in recommendations about things like vegan bread, vegan wine, vegan chocolates, … Smaller things that are often overlooked in other restaurants.
Truly recommended! If you want to visit Réliva, we advise you to make a reservation! We surely hope to visit again soon 🙂

UPDATE Summer 2017: prices have increased, vegan options have decreased (only one vegan option), and strict and selective reservation policy (eg pay deposit to confirm reservation).
UPDATE 2022: Réliva is no longer serving vegan dishes, also not on request. So disappointing … 😦
