#597 Lots of vegan options, restaurant Aal, Echternach, Lux

restaurant review #597 – Great to see so many vegan options on the menu, and clearly labelled! Especially in an area that is not particularly vegan friendly … but very beautiful (more photos of the Echternach region below).

#420 Nice fastfood lunch, Snack in Joy (Reed), Luxembourg

restaurant review #420 – Another vegan restaurant! This one in the capital of our neighbouring country, Luxembourg!

#326 Dinner at vegan resto Beet, Belval – Esch-sur-Alzette (LUX)

restaurant review #326 – This is the second restaurant of vegan restaurant Beet in Luxembourg, the first one being in the city center of Luxembourg city. This one is located in Belval, a bit outside of Esch-sur-Alzette, where the annual International Animal Rights Conference takes place. It is on a renovated/former industrial site. There are several shops and restaurants in the area, one of which is Japanese restaurant Origami, which we visited in 2019. We were at Beet in Belval for dinner a couple of months ago, in 2021.

#323 Fastfood vegan pizza, The Tube Bar, Luxembourg

restaurant review #323 – The Tube Bar is located in the buzzing center of Luxembourg city. We were here a couple of months ago, and sat on the spacious terrace. I had seen many positive reviews on Happy Cow, and was excited to try this place!

A look inside vegan shop Venga, Roeser (Luxembourg)

Shop review #65 – This is from a visit to vegan shop Venga a couple of months ago. We were in Luxembourg for the International Animal Rights Conference (where I gave a presentation about animal resistance and human saviorism).

#255 Nice vegan lunch at Japanese resto Origami, Esch-sur-Alzette (Lux)

restaurant review #255 – Japanese restaurant Origami is located at the back of the new shopping center. There is a large outdoor terrace, but we were here on a rainy day in September, so went inside. We were in the area for the International Animal Rights Conference, which takes places every year in September in Esch-sur-Alzette. On this edition I gave a presentation about ‘Representations of Other Animals. About Vegan Turkey and Voiceless Animals‘. We were asked if we wanted to sit at the carroussel, but declined (don’t want to see all those animal based dishes going by). There are plenty of other seatings in the restaurant room, it’s very spacious.

I attended for the first time in 2018, and then gave a presentation about ableism and ageism in the movement. This year I gave a presentation about Representation of other animals. VIDEO Ableism, ageism and speciesism, presentation IARC 2018, Geertrui Cazaux

I attended the 8th International Animal Rights Conference in Luxembourg at the beginning of September. A very inspirational weekend, being together with activists from many different countries and attending many presentations on a broad variety of topics (program here). I gave a presentation about ableism, ageism and speciesism. The presentation is now up on Youtube on VeganKanal. The slides from the presentation are inlcuded. I added English subtitles to the video. Interested in hearing your feedback! The video does not include the introduction. In which I gave (among other things) an overview of the presentation: Intro: definitions and examples 1) intersections and interconnections between ableism, ageism and speciesism 2) how to reach disabled, older people 3) points to take into account to be an inclusive movement   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Geertrui (@trudi_bruges)

I first got to know of her work through the book ‘Sister Species. Women, animals and social justice‘. This …
