#244 Great vegan pizza with homemade vegan cheeze at Dolce Pizza y Los Veganos, Barcelona

restaurant review #244 – Dolce Pizza y Los Veganos is a vegetarian restaurant in the city center of Barcelona. It is located between the Gracia area and the Sagrada Familia (at the end of the Passeig de Sant Joan parc). Vegan options are clearly noted, and it was very hard choosing from so many options on the menu. Not used to having so much choice!

#241 Loved the food at Veggieburger by Biocenter, Barcelona

restaurant review 241 – Veggieburger by Biocenter is a vegetarian restaurant in the food court of a shopping mall in Barcelona. It doesn’t really sound attractive, but these burgers were some of the best we ever had! Veggieburger by Biocenter is located near the Poblenou district (Avenu Diagonal) close to the University where we went to the conference of the European Association of Critical Animal Studies. The food court is located in the basement (-1 floor) and the Veggie Burger stand is on the far side, next to the meat court unfortunately. Vegan options are clearly labelled on menu.

#190 Pizza and crema Catalana at Vegetalia Born, Barcelona

restaurant review #190Β  – Vegetalia is a vegetarian restaurant in the city center of Barcelona, with several locations in the city (Gotico, Raval, Born).Β  We went to the one in Born, in the historic city center of Barcelona. Vegetalia Born is at the corner of a square at the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, and sitting at the window, we had a nice view on the square. This review is from a visit a couple of months ago, during our short trip to Barcelona (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). We arrived here a bit after lunch time. Vegatalia Born is a busy place, but there were some empty tables. There was a mixed public of young and old, and I think a lot of visitors were locals (not tourists). Vegan options are indicated on the menu. There are also fresh juices available. We were served some egg plant (free appetizer). We had a glass of wine (3,50€) and juice (4,20€) and some olives (2,60€). We ordered a vegan pizza (9,50€) and the catalan creme, …

#173 La Trocadero, vegan fastfood near Sagrada Familia, Barcelona

restaurant review #173 La Trocadero is a vegan fastfood self service bar near the Sagrada Familia. You order food at the counter, then go pick up your food at the counter (number called out in Spanish or Catalan). And one is expected to clean up after finished. We went here for lunch, after our visit to the Sagrada Familia.Β (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). The menu is shown on TV screens above the counter. There’s an English explanation, and photos of the dishes next to it. The girl serving at counter was a bit rude, and not very welcoming. She hardly spoke any English, but we managed to place our order. La Trocadero is not for elaborate dining and wining. It is fastfood: burgers and hotdogs. No alcohol served, except some rootbeer. The place seems newly renovated and seems very hip and modern. Very simple furniture though, but very creative (with vegetable boxes). There was retro stuff as decoration, like old televisions and radios. A very colourful interior. We had a notdog (3,75€), onionrings (3,90€), a …

#169 Tapas and cocktails at Barceloneta, Barcelona

Restaurant review #169 – Barceloneta is a vegan tapas bar, at the beach area of Barcelona (the area is called ‘la Barceloneta’, hence the name of the tapas bar). We visited a couple of weeks ago, on a cold and Wintery afternoon (yes it was cold with a blistering wind at the beach! not the image one has when thinking of Barcelona πŸ˜‰ ). So we were glad there was a vegan bar in the area, to warm up! (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). Barceloneta is a rather small place and is a bit dark. There are two rooms, and each have an entrance door (to different parallel streets). The menu has several exotic sounding cocktails, sangrias, a great selection of tapas, and also burgers. We ordered these: Mona Lisa cocktail (with white wine and mint) 8€ Dianna cocktail (with rosΓ© wine) 7€ vegan ‘calamares’ rings and tofu croquettes, each 7,95€ Drinks and tapas totalled 30,90€ (which we found somewhat expensive, for Barcelona). The tapas were good, the tofu croquettes were very dense though.Β  There …

Stylish handbags, shoes and more at vegan shop Amapola, Barcelona

shop review #50 – Amapola is a vegan shop in the city center of Barcelona, on the north side in the Vila de Gracia district. It sells T-shirts, handbags, wallets and shoes.Β Β And some other accessories like jewelry and bonnets. (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). We were here a couple of weeks ago, and it was the first stop in our visit to Barcelona. The shop is quite spacious and has a nice selection of items, from different brands. We bought some shoes, and a wallet from Matt & Natt! Good to know: the shop is fully accessible, with a wheelchair ramp leading down into the shop Amapola, location Travessera de GrΓ cia, 129, 08012 Barcelona +34 930 10 62 73 website:Β See ourΒ list of shops, which may interest vegans.
