restaurant review #391 – An all vegan bowl place!! 🙌💚💚
There are two Funky Bowls in Düsseldorf, this is from a visit to the one in the north side of town. The one near the haven, close to our hotel, was unfortunately closed in the weekend. Next to those two, there is also a Funky Bowl in Berlin, and one in Essen.

We were in Dusseldorf on our way to a show of prog guitar genius Steve Hackett. He performed in the Historische Stadthalle in nearby Wuppertal together with his band and a symphonic orchestra (and I was thrilled to have met him and drummer Craig Blundell before the show!) (see below)
Choose one of the menu bowls, or compose your own.
I was a bit disappointed they didn’t have more protein options (like vegan ‘shrimp’, ‘fish’ like alternatives, tempeh, etc). There was only kebab, tofu and ‘chickn’. This was simply a similar offer like in other (non-vegan) poke bowl places.

Only one size available, and it was a really large portion. We both couldn’t finish it! Way too much.
Chickarella bowl 13,90€ and compose your own 11,50€, which is quite cheap for that size.

😔 Not friendly at all, it almost felt as if they didnt want us to have lunch there. Come on, it doesn’t hurt to smile … 😊

🏠 Clean place, but small. Only 8 seating places inside, some benches outside. Clean toilets.
Front is accessible, no accessible toilet.
↪️Pros: All vegan
↪️Cons: Not friendly, Want more protein options, Give the option to choose a small/medium bowl
Just around the corner was a stall from Animal Rights Watch Düsseldorf an animal rights organisation , where I got this button 😎👏
