restaurant review #390 – Tante Tilly is a brasserie in the city center of Roermond, in the south of the Netherlands.

We stopped here for lunch on our way back from Germany, after we went to a show of prog guitar genius Steve Hackett. He performed in the Historische Stadthalle in Wuppertal together with his band and a symphonic orchestra (and I was thrilled to have met him and drummer Craig Blundell before the show!)
The vegan options are clearly marked on the menu at Tante Tilly. Not that many vegan options, but enough to have a nice, varied lunch.

We had the bitterballen (7,50€), toast with vegan cheese (feta from violife 8,95€), salad (14,50€) and carrot and lentil soup (7,50€).

There’s also a chocolate fudge dessert, but we were stuffed.
Nice place, very spacious inside. Relaxed atmosphere (note: the lamp shades are made with bird plumes/feathers, I suspect real ones).

– Why do I include a pic of the toilet? Read about it HERE

And friendly service.
All in all: we had a lovely lunch!
