restaurant review #360 – We stayed at the Delta hotel a couple of months ago, when we were in the Netherlands to go to a show of Tedeschi Trucks Band (see video below and more on my You Tube).

Before going to the show in the Ahoy in nearby Rotterdam, we had a quick snack/dinner in the restaurant of the hotel: Grand Café Nautique. Was happy to see some vegan options on the menu.

We had the Flammkuchen with vegan mozarella (12€) and the waldorfsalad (12,5€).

This was actually pretty cheap! But the flammkuchen was not really a big portion. If you really want this for dinner, you could easily eat two of these 😉
The waldorfsalad was OK. Would be better with some vegan protein added (like tofu, tempeh, seitan ‘chick’n’ chunks, etc)
Note: the vegan options at breakfast at the Delta Hotel were very limited. When asked, got soy milk and soy lime yoghurt. But no vegan bread spreads or cheeze or such. Despite having specifically asked vegan breakfast when making the reservation … So that was a bummer.
The location of the hotel/restaurant is very special though: at the banks of the river Maas, with heavy cargo ships passing by and lots of industry around (with many lights at night). So a completely different setting than what we are used to!
