restaurant review #271 – Bagels & Beans is a chain with several locations throughout the Netherlands. There’s always something vegan available, and on our visits staff has always been very friendly to check for ingredients (see previous reviews of Bagels & Beans).

This review is from a visit to the Bagels & Beans in Den Bosch a couple of months ago, before the measures due to the COVID19 pandemic started.

We visited Den Bosch for a book presentation in the Avans Hogeschool (College) and this Bagels & Beans at the edge of Den Bosch is very closeby. We were there for lunch and the place was packed and we were lucky there was one table free (btw, loved the architecture of the building along side this water lake nearby – see photo below).

We had a bagel with hummus and one with vegan cream cheese. You can choose your own type of bagel (all are vegan except one, I forgot which one though!).
We didn’t have to wait very long (and it was very busy, so well done to staff). The type of bagels were reversed in the dishes though, and we didn’t get the extra avocado we asked for. Ah well, never mind.

It’s great that this chain has some vegan options, and it’s a handy options when there is few other things around. I do wish they would start adding more original vegan options (beyond hummus, avocado, …). They used to have a Dutch weedburger, which was nice (no longer on menu unfortunately).

The venue is accessible (although packed and not so easy to manoeuver). No accessible toilet (and toilets at the back are very small, clean though).
