restaurant review #206 – Passion for Food is a Mediterranean restaurant in the city center of Bruges. I had seen it mentionned several times in facebook groups, and had been wanting to check it out for several years. With hardly any online info available about menu, opening hours etc (no website, nor active FB page) I was unable to check the menu before going.
We were here for lunch a couple of months ago. We were warmly welcomed and choose to sit at the window.
The menu is not very extensive, and there are some vegan options on the menu (labelled vegan).
My husband had a salad as a starter (7€). We choose the tajine (15€) and couscous (16€) as main dishes.
The dishes were ok, but a bit monotone. We would have liked it more spiced up.
Passion for Food is a family run bussiness and that transpires in the atmosphere. There is only one person serving the tables, so when the restaurant is full, it can be a bit of a wait.
Is not a vegan restaurant, so smell confrontation with animal based food can be hard. At some point smell of fish being baked coming from kitchen was penetrating the restaurant.
There is a front terrace with two tables. And an inner court terrace at the back.
The restaurant is wheelchair accessible (ground level and accessible toilet). Toilet was very basic and poorly lit.

All in all: a simple lunch, could use some more spicing, and be prepared for some waiting time.
