#593 Decent lunch, L’Estret, Palafrugell, Spain

restaurant review #593 – Vegan lunch in Palafrugell, Catalunya, Spain! Not so easy to find vegan options for dining out in this region. So this was a nice find. This is the last review from our holiday last Summer 🙂 Vegetarian options are labelled, and some are vegan. We stated we were vegan and the waiter seemed knowledgeable. And friendly.

#588 Very cheap, lots of vegetables, Cal Blasi, Berga, Spain

restaurant review #588 – It’s definitely not easy finding places that have (decent) vegan options in this area (the Pyrenees, south of Andorra). In retrospect, this was one of the best meals we had. It was filling, and had lots of vegetables! (Yeah for NOT serving patatas bravas or a vegan burger, which we often saw as vegan options later on).

#584 Clearly labelled vegan options, a rarity! La Vermuteria, Solsona, Spain

restaurant review #584 – This was one of the only restaurants in this absolutely beautiful area, with clearly labelled vegan options!!

#573 Lifesaver in a region with few options, Poke START EAT, L’Estartit, Spain

restaurant review #573 – Finding decent vegan options in this region can be a challenge. It wasn’t always easy during our holiday earlier this Summer! We were VERY happy with this poke place, and had take-away lunch twice! Finally some decent food!

#570 Lovely food, super cheap, vegan restaurant B12, Girona, Spain

restaurant review #570 – Vegan restaurant! The only vegan restaurant in Girona! A beautiful, but very touristy city, very busy (and it wasn’t even full Summer season yet …). We also spotted some urban wildlife in the river!

#569 Nice vegan tapas, Bar Riera, Sa Riera, Spain

restaurant review #569 – Vegan tapas at the beach!

#567 Lunch at a local restaurant, Carmen, Organyà, Spain

restaurant review #567 – This is a typical local restaurant in Catalunia / Spain, in the Pyrenees (just south of Andorra). Vegan options are very rare in this – beautiful – region!

#274 Light lunch at Nabucco Obrador, Barcelona

restaurant review #274 – Nabucco Obrador is a take-away place in the Gracia district of Barcelona (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). This review is from a restaurant visit to Nabucco Obrador in 2019 (I know I’m late with my post 😉 ), so from before lockdown measures due to the COVID19 pandemic. There weren’t so many options for vegans in the neighbourhood for an early lunch (at noon), so we ended up going here. It is only take away (and a very small place), but there is one small bench (for two) at the front window. So we could have our lunch there (no table though, so a bit unhandy to eat). Vegan options are labelled and the lady at the counter had no problem telling us what was vegan.

#256 Sandwich for lunch at vegetarian restaurant Aguaribay, Barcelona

restaurant review #256 – Aguaribay is a vegetarian restaurant in the El Poblenou area of Barcelona. It is not far from the beach. We visited a couple of months ago, when we were in Barcelona for the EACAS conference (European Association of Critical Animal Studies). We were too early for lunch (starts at 1PM) but we could get a sandwich with hummus and tomatoes, which was nice.

#248 Another delicious dinner at Rasoterra(2), Barcelona

restaurant review #248 – Rasoterra is a vegetarian restaurant in the old city center of Barcelona (More reviews of Barcelona HERE). We had already visited Rasoterra in the beginning of 2018 (see review) and we liked it so much that we definitely wanted to visit again during our visit to Barcelona in the Spring of 2019. Rasoterra often pops up as one of the best places to go dining on vegan or vegetarian lists of Barcelona – or even the world! We agree! I had made a reservation by phone, and it is definitely advised to make a reservation, because the place soon filled up again.
