restaurant review #322 – La Brasserie is like one in a dozen brasserie/tea room style restaurants in the more rural area around Bruges, in Zedelgem. What is special though is that there are vegan options standardly mentioned on the menu!

This review is from a visit last year (yes, I’m really catching up with the restaurant reviews 😉 ). The vegan options are clearly labeled on the menu and they have vegan croque, spaghetti and lasagne.
The burger (‘Bart’s burger) is not labelled as vegan, but it is.

We were here for dinner and had a vegan burger with fries (13€) and double croque (11€) with fries on the side (2,50€).

Friendly service and varied and colourful greens on the side.
The food was OK, typical Flemish ‘brasserie’ style food. Fair value for money (it’s quite cheap).
We were too full for dessert, but bought some pieces of pie to take with us (5€ a piece), from Magpies.

It is along side a busy road and the interior not so cosy and a bit old fashioned. Everything is spotlessly clean though.
Restaurant room and terrace accessible. Did not see an accessible toilet.

Pros: vegan options standardly available! vegan pies
Cons: opening hours, already closed at 7.30PM, not so cosy
