#293 Vegan hotdog and burgers at BrewDog, Brussels

restaurant review #293 – Brewdog is a Scottish brewery with pubs all over the world. I visited the pub in Brussels a couple of weeks ago, which is located just next to the entrance of the Central train station. You can’t miss it.

I was in Brussels to go to the premiere of the new documentary Gunda, about the life of a pig and her piglets – from their perspective. The screening was at the Bozar, so very handy that I could have a bite to eat near the train station, at Brewdog.

Brewdog Brussels has a seperate section on the menu with vegan options (or vegetarian – and indication which can be veganised). And also indication next to side dishes which ones are vegan (e.g. veganaise).
The menu consists of fastfood type dishes like burgers, hot dog, fries, and sweet potato fries.

I ordered the ‘soy division’ – a vegan hot dog + veganaise + sweet potato fries. This totalled 17€. Drink (Fritz Cola ) was 2,80€. Not cheap, but it is Brussels …

The waitress came back to inform me that the hot dog bun is not vegan and they could place it in a vegan burger bun, which was OK for me. Glad that she noticed.

The food was ok-ish. Too much bread for me though. Some more greens or options to order e.g. a salad as a side dish would be nice (I don’t think it was on the menu).

Large spacious place, lots of outdoor seating too. Some benches which are comfortable, but the outdoor chairs are very uncomfortable.

Loved the music (they even played Steven Wilson😄)

Toilets downstairs – did not see an accessible toilet. Toilets were spotlessly clean. Seemed newly renovated (or at least not very long ago).
Stairs to get in the restaurant – so not accessible – although the website does mention ‘disabled access’, so maybe there is a seperate entrance.

All in all: love that they have so many vegan options and clearly label them. Great atmosphere and spacious place. Good for a fastfood type meal, although I would love to have some more greens.
