Impressions from Ieperfest 2019. Vegan hardcore music festival

Ieperfest is a 3-day hardcore music festival, just outside Ypres (Ieper, 75km from Bruges, Belgium). Since day one, more than 20 years ago, all the food at Ieperfest is vegan!

In previous years, the festival was mid August, but this year it has been set to the beginning of July.
We just went for the afternoon, to taste some of the great food, and enjoy the atmosphere. The weather was mild (not too hot, not too cold) and luckily no showers when we were there.

As all the foodstalls are vegan, there’s no lack of food to taste!
Here’s what we had to eat:

Fries from De Frietketel, Ieperfest 2019

Pizza from Plant A Pizza, Ieperfest 2019

Vegan vol-au-vent from the Ieperfest Hardcore Food stall, Ieperfest 2019

seitan skwer from The Vegan Butcher’s Choice, Ieperfest 2019

Burger from The Loving Hut Express Belgium, Ieperfest 2019

icecream from Heppie Cow, Ieperfest 2019

We also enjoyed listening in to some of the bands, although hardcore is not really my cup of tea 😉

There is also a More than Music tent, where NGO’s have a stall and workshops are held and docus are screened. Ieperfest is also renowded for being one of the greenest festivals, with for example a clear recycling policy, compost toilets, seperate waste bins for different items.
