restaurant review #518 – Vegan restaurant – on new location, in the city center! (Note – see below).

part of menu, Bodhi, Leuven
We ordered
- Konjac rolls (‘calamari squid’ rings) 7,5€
- Steamed gyozas 10€
- Rice noodle salad 15€ with seitan (‘duck’) 3€
- Creamy miso ramen 18€
- Two desserts: chocolate mousse 5,5€ and speculoos cheese cake 6,5€ and a coffee
- a mocktail with ginger 7€ and a kombucha.
The konjac rolls and drinks came swiftly. Unfortunately the rolls were very hard (fried too long? Or old?).

We waited for the gyozas, and then all of a sudden everything came together (gyozas and mains).
The gyozas were really super delicious.

The rice noodle salad was nothing special, and the rice noodles tasted rather watery. The miso ramen was very nice, spicy!

The chocolate mousse and speculoos cake were not really our cup of tea. The chocolate very bitter, and the cake very, very dense.
This restaurant used to be in the Mechelsestraat, in a very small place, now moved to Parijsstraat.
Although there’s more seating in the new place, it’s still rather small. But it didn’t feel cosy at all (eg no decorations on wall). Wooden chairs and some stools.

Saw one toilet, not accessible (and very small). Clean.
Entrance is with small ramp.
Very friendly.

All in all, a bit mixed feelings. Both about the food and the decor.
● visit January 2025
PS: on the opposite side is a barbershop, with a stuffed pig head on the wall 🐽😬 quite confrontational 😔
Note: Given the way the owner reacted to my review on my FB page – The Bruges Vegan) I have no intention of visiting again… Talk about fragility if they can’t even handle feedback like this!
