restaurant review #477 – Large place, in city center, with vegan options clearly labelled. There are several places in Breda, but not that many open for lunch, on a Monday! Had the Food came swiftly and was good! Way too much, we over ordered (sometimes a bit confused by the lunch options in the NL, one serving seems too little, two – too much!) 😄 but we managed to finish it all, except for the bread that came with the croquettes (took it with us). Very spacious outdoor seating.Not accessible, steps to get in. Old building.Toilet upstairs. There was nothing to dry one’s hands after washing. restaurant review #389 – Black & White is a vegan restaurant in Breda (the Netherlands), just over the border with Belgium. It is outside of the city center, in what seems like a bussiness/industrial zone. Not the neighbourhood where you would expect a vegan restaurant! The Kafe is part of the Black& White community, with also a sports center and offices.

restaurant review #267 – This review is from a visit to Bali James in 2019 (before the lockdown and COVID19measures). Although it’s from a long time ago, I still like to post it for archival reasons for myself, as I like to have the photos and impressions on my blog! Bali James is an Indonesian restaurant (well the name does give it away!) in Breda, the Netherlands. Breda is just across the border from Belgium, not so far from Antwerp. The restaurant is just outside, but within walking distance from the city center. There are plenty of Indonesian restaurants in The Netherlands (given the historical link with the country), but unfortunately they are a rarity in Belgium. So whenever we are in the Netherlands, we try to go to an Indonesian restaurant, because they always have vegan dishes availble, and we love the cuisine!
