Cosmetics and body and care products at Vegan Mania, Paris

Shop review #39 – Vegan Mania is small shop in the city center of Paris, in a little alley just around the corner of Centre Pompidou. Vegan Mania also has a webshop and ships worldwide. I often find it challenging to find vegan cosmetics and body and care products. If they do not carry a vegan label, it is often impossible to know whether the product does or does not contain any animal products (with often a long list of obscure sounding ingredients) and whether it has been tested on animals or not. Or one has to do some serious researching online to know the brands and their specific vegan products. So it was a joy to shop at Vegan Mania: all products are vegan and organic. Easy! We visited the shop when we were in Paris for a couple of days earlier this year, and I bought some products.ย  Would have loved to buy more, but we were with our tandem bike and couldn’t carry a lot with us. Loved the shop! Wish we …

#133 Lunch at vegan brasserie 2eme Art, Paris

Restaurant review #133 – Brasserie 2eme Art is a vegan brasserie in the city center of Paris, in between the Louvre and the Centre Pompidou. We were here in June, when we were in Paris for a couple of days, before heading to Normandy. There is a large terrace in front of the brasserie. Tables are close next to each other though. Luckily, we were rather late for lunch, and there were not so many people on the terrace. It was blooming hot in Paris (nearly 40ยฐC) and we were happy there were some umbrellas offering shade (inside was rather full when we arrived). This is part of the menu at Brasserie 2รจme Art (there are also pizza’s available): PS: the red glow is because we were sitting underneath a red umbrella ๐Ÿ˜‰ For drinks we had fresh juice: one can choose fresh juices with different ingredientes, and I ordered carrot and apple (4,90โ‚ฌ). A beer was 3,90โ‚ฌ. Glass of wine 5โ‚ฌ. We also were served free tap water (refilled even). This is what we …

Enter the vegan world of Un Monde Vegan, Paris

Shop review #36 – Un Monde vegan is a vegan shop in the center of Paris, on the north side of Le Marais. We paid them a visit during our city trip in Paris, in June. It is a reasonably sized shop, comparable to the size of organic stores like Biovita and Originโ€™O in Belgium. Un Monde Vegan is stacked with vegan goodies, from the usual suspects like plant milks and vegan burgers, but also books, icecream, cheezes and cosmetics. It is so exciting but also relaxing to look around in an all vegan shop. Not having to check labels to see whether any goods contain animal products (which seems to have become second natureย ๐Ÿ˜‰ย ! We had the same feeling when we visisted the vegan shop Veganz in Vienna. We couldn’t do any real shopping, as we were with our tandem bike. But we did buy some drinks, as it was a very hot day in Paris! Here are some more pics of Un Monde Vegan, which give you an idea of what they have …

#125 Delicious and beautiful pastry at VG Pรขtisserie, Paris

Restaurant review #125 – shop review #35- VG Pรขtisserie is an organic and vegan pastry shop/bistro in Paris. We had seen pictures of their beautiful creations on social media, and definitely did not want to miss this on our visit to Paris a couple of weeks ago! It is located on the east side of town, in between the Place de la Bastille and the famous cemetery Pรจre Lachaise. In the morning, VG Pรขtisserie serves breakfast and brunch, in the afternoon only pattisserie. One can also place an order and collect at the shop. We saw a lot of people coming in and collecting their order or buying pastry from the shop (also because it was Father’s Day in France). VG Pรขtisserie is a rather small place, with only two seating tables. We were lucky that people from one table just left as we arrived, and we could take a seat. Choice of pastry in the counter was rather limited (3 sorts of pastry), but we were there on a Sunday, the day before their …
