#449 Lovely Quesadilla, one vegan option, NOMAD, Brugge (2)

restaurant review #449 – I had visited NOMAD in 2017 (see REVIEW), but they had no vegan options standardly available on the menu back then. We did get a vegan lunch, by adapting dishes, which didn’t really impress much, and there were sheepskin on the terrace seatings (seem to be gone now). And inside was very loud! So hadn’t visited again since. Fastforward to April 2024. There’s now one vegan lunch dish. The avocado toast can also be veganised (leave out egg). And a vegan dessert (chocolate cake and coconut ice). Progress! So I had the Quesadilla ‘The Mexican’ (21€). It comes with guacamole, a salad on the side, and sour cream (from Violife).Nice dish, spicy, very filling (large portion!). Nicely presented. Didn’t have to wait long. Seatings are combination of regular chairs/tables and high barchairs/tables. Toilets at the back, clean, didn’t see an accessible toilet. Can be loud when full. Service was swift. But reserved … With some places in Bruges I get the impression staff don’t really put in that much effort to be …

No problem. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, near the toilets, on a small table next to a demi wall, seperating the restaurant from the kitchen. We were there for lunch on a Friday and the place was fully packed (this was shortly after New Year and there seemed to be a large table with a group of colleagues having a New Year’s lunch). Accoustics were very bad and the noise was loud! We …
