restaurant review #152 – 222 Veggie Vegan is a vegan restaurant on the West side of London (West-Kensington). The 222 refers to the street number of the place (for some this might seem obvious, but it wasn’t at first to us 😉 ). It is just next to vegan shop Greenbay, so this is a nice combination to visit.

222 Veggie Vegan offers a vegan buffet for lunch. Dinner is a la carte.
The buffet is all you can eat, and at £9,50 is very cheap, especially considering other prices in London. The buffet isn’t that elaborate, but certainly enough different options to fill a varied plate. There’s also the option to fill a tray from the buffet and take your lunch home with you.

The restaurant itself was really busy and we just managed to get a spot at the long communal table in the middle. Seats were pretty close to each other and it felt really busy and crowded. Not really that comfortable. Also sometimes quite a queue at the buffet. The waitress was not really welcoming and seemed a bit grumpy.
As we were quite a stretch away from the busy center of London, the place seemed mostly filled with locals, not that many tourists.
Toilet was in the back (also small, but clean and tidy).

In sum: very cheap, and good value for money, but very crowded.
As 222 Veggie Vegan is not really in central London, we wouldn’t especially be looking to go there again on a next trip to London, unless perhaps we would accidentally be in the area. It was nice to combine it with a visit to next door vegan shop Greenbay though.

The Bruges Vegan 
Hey Trudi,
als je nog eens in Kortrijk bent moet je zeker eens gaan eten bij Petit Paris. Restaurantje werd onlangs overgenomen en biedt nu ook (superlekkere) vegan en veggiemaaltijden aan. Staan nog wat verstopt op de menukaart maar uitbater geeft graag uitleg wat er vegan is en wat niet.
Petit Paris ligt op zo’n 50m van onze winkel, in zelfde straat maar dichter bij de Grote Markt.
